  • Best thing

I come in knowing what i am supposed to do, I get discounts for a lot of different companies, I have access to 20 free therapy sessions and free access to digital Healthcare, I have access to half of my check anytime after the day I work, there are great people you meet through Walmart, some days are light work and mainly customer service driven, most of the work is pretty easy to understand and grasp, you can learn basic things that help you in other careers, there is access to moving up in the company if you are willing to do the work in the right store, there is an academy that provides some help to those in management positions, the work is variety driven, pma will get you through most of the day, they have retirement plans, vision and dental go to everybody including part-timers, you have access to your schedule beyond three weeks, you can cover most sick days with ppto, this job teaches endurance, overall the job can be easy and there are good days.

    Worst thing

Management works with you most of the time but there are bad managers with a lot of bad behaviors that get handed down, pto is given but it does not cover sick days, ppto does and it stops you from getting points which you are only allowed 5, the company "cleans house" almost every year especially those in management positions, the management makes a lot of money and gets big bonuses but being a worker or having a closed schedule generally leaves you in a bad position, especially part-timers who get hired to scrounge for hours and can still be hired only getting 8 hours a week forcing them to quit instead of firing them, most management can help but there are also quite a bit who have no idea what they are doing and still manage to keep their position, the job can be routine but there are a lot of days where your not doing what you were hired to do, the benefits are only for the 90 day hires but health coverage is not one of them sometimes leaving people in a position where they can't afford health coverage and they have no access to medi-cal because they make too much and if you are accepted into medi-cal you are not guaranteed to keep receiving because you might make more than what your allowed, training is mostly computer based and not helpful because when your in the field its a different situation and not many people help those who are struggling leaving them in anxious states, most people who work there for many years develop early health problems because they are forced to work hard because schedules are not taken care of leading to bad coverage leading to be overstressed by the amount of work and customer service there is, your position is not always guaranteed to be there because its at the store managers discretion to simply delete it and move you to places you don't wanna be in, store managers don't last long because they get pushed to their limits often causing them to develop very bad habits or forced to quit because they can't run a store correctly, most of the older employees may have been in a management position but end up being forced to be a worker instead meaning they have lots of knowledge but weren't good enough to keep their positions because they weren't trained right, a lot of Wal-mart is guesswork and not grounded, they ask for feedback but do not respond, hard days happen because they fear upper management firing them when they tour the store leading them to panic and causing everybody to stress because they didn't have the coverage or did not keep the standards, there is always days where everybody is panicking at least once a week, I'm sure there are more good and more bad but thats all I have time for.
