YMCA job reviews

  • Best thing

Free ymca membership, good money for my age and I get to make people smile and get to meet new people in general

    Worst thing

Low hours, stressful, long days, and usually my shifts are late so I get home late

    7.8

Lifeguard at the YMCA, April 2025

  • Best thing

The customers, the coworkers, the atmosphere, and the fact that I get to pick my own hours and days to work each month

    Worst thing

Schedules get sent out at the very last minute, and we have to make our schedules over a month in advance. Communication is extremely poor between the different parts of the YMCA. You have to find someone else to cover for your shift, and if you can’t find anyone, you will have to come to work despite being sick. Management isn’t the best, and I sometimes feel they don’t handle things like they should.
