-
Best thing
Pay is decent. If your leaders are good and supportive the job is nice and easy. Benefits are decent.
Worst thing
My managers are toxic, rarely support me, always point out the negatives and never have any sort of positive reinforcement, all executive leaders mostly sit around all day and chat and just expect everything to get done for them but still complain when things don’t get done, managers don’t talk to their team with respect.
Higher ups set unrealistic expectations, never try to understand why things may not get done because they don’t actually work what us lower people work, and far too many changes happen that are just completely useless.

- Direct management (Team leads) are the most helpful of the management.
- During an 8 hour shift you get two paid 15s and an unpaid 30 which is great to mentally break your shift up so it doesn’t feel like you’re there forever.
- most people are willing to help if you need it and if they can’t, they’ll give you an alternativeWorst thing
- working with HR. as someone with health issues, they make it incredibly difficult to work around even with doctoral paperwork. They definitely seem to be there to defend corporate instead of protecting employees. they also seem to think their job is way more important than anyone else’s although if they were told to do your position, they wouldn’t know where to start.
- there’s inspections CONSTANTLY which puts a lot of stress on the store as a whole because of the focus on details that aren’t super important to the employees or guest experienceBarista at Target, February 2025
