Best thing
The best things about my job is I get to learn how to make my favorite drinks, no one the next launches for the new tumblers, and meet new people
Worst thing
The worst things about my job is that even though I had two weeks of training, I still needed help making like the hot coffees or like the hot express or even the ice shaking espresso. With other things, I had to ask a lot of questions on where things were because I didn’t even know where they were even though I had training so I think With starbucks they need to have the trainers actually train you and show you where everything is at how to do them properly and all that stuff.

Best thing
I enjoy making drinks, it is the best part of the job. The main reason why I decided to work at Starbucks instead of a local coffee shop are mainly for the benefits and the convenience of workplaces, there is a Starbucks everywhere you go, which means that if I needed more hours, I can go to any store within a 10 mile radius of my house.
Worst thing
The customers. Everything that Starbucks has pushed for in the last decade; "the customer is always right", if a customer yells at you, you have to sit there and take it or be reprimanded for asking them not to talk to you in a harassing or demeaning manner, etc. Customers have been told for so long that they can always get what they want if they demand it enough, if they threaten to call corporate enough, if they harass you enough, it is so draining to constantly be harassed and demeaned at my job and have to withhold all of my feelings on it, because if I cry, I am being weak, and if I tell a person I am not comfortable with the way they are speaking to me, I am "being rude" or "condescending". I wish, wholeheartedly, that my job seemed like it actually put me first, instead of sales and numbers and reviews.

Best thing
Some of my coworkers are great and i like learning about different coffees/beverages
Worst thing
The lack of morale, management doesn't care about us, refuses to help us when we are struggling on the floor, is constantly writing us up for things that they do, keeps cutting our hours, yet keeps hiring people

Benefits are good and the pay is hard to beat for a retail position
Worst thing

Best thing
The team I work with. My baristas make it worth it, if it weren’t for them I would’ve had a major breakdown already.
Worst thing
Management. All the higherups who don’t understand what it’s like being at the bottom. Starbucks made over $60 billion in profits last year. They seem to keep getting greedier each year. They continue to lower the amount of hours and continue to shame all the partners. We’re just a number to them

You can really know people well enough. It's a good place to start if you really like to interact with people and expand on your people's skills.
Worst thing
Depends on location, but in an area say near an airport, it more often than not gets busy. I can tell that some of my employees do not also like to feel coddled as if they don't know how the policy goes.

Best thing
You can pick up shifts at other stores to really suit the amount of hours you want. Most of the baristas are super friendly.
Worst thing
It can be a super taxing job. The customers can be super rude and it is a lot of memorization. The menu is constantly updating. Policies are changing without an increase in pay for new responsibilities. Scheduling is an issue because due to callouts or them not scheduling correctly it is expected for us to cover it rather than our boss trying to come help.

other partners are always super sweet and kind. depending on the store, managers are great at what they do and they’re sweet. customers are usually really nice but there’s always at least one person that’s not but it’s not a big deal
Worst thing
starbucks as a whole is stressful and has strict guidelines. it’ll very from store to store but most of them suck most stores are dirty and aren’t maintained. back of houses stink and there’s always mold somewhere. there’s bugs EVERYWHERE especially during the summer. if you’re early you’re on time, if you’re on time you’re late, and if you’re late don’t even bother showing up. i got a coaching for being one minute late clocking in (not exaggerating wish i was) but i was in the building 3 minutes early.

Best thing
If everyone does their part, the job can be really fun and a manageable amount of work.
Worst thing
No accountability. If managers dont do their jobs, its the staff held responsible for failures. They overwork good staff to hide mistakes in scheduling and bad policies. No incentives to perform well, no performance-based raises, no help or encouragement to move up. When applying to move up, no feedback when denied.
