What are fast food and counter workers saying about pay at Panda Express?

Best thing
Pay is great for Stillwater, plus they have $0.25 raises every 6 months. There's room for growth to shift lead. FOH starts at $16, BOH at $17, and shiftleads at $18 (which is easy to get). You get a paid 10 min break every 4 hours you work, plus an unpaid 30 every 6 hours.
Worst thing
Our location is open until 11, so you don't get out until midnight some nights. They are meticulous about cleaning so there's a lot of deep-cleaning required, even if you have to do it between helping dozens of customers.

Best thing
The match rate for their 401K program is like 5-6%. You get a 25¢ raise every 6 months if you're doing everything right. There's lots of ways and opportunities to rise up, both position and pay-wise. You get a paid 10 minute break and free food every shift.
Worst thing
Turnover can be high at some locations, and closers usually get out around 11:30pm-12am. We aren't supposed to accept tips unless the customer insists. Higher-ups are pretty strict and watch with cameras.

Best thing
The job pay seems pretty good for my age and as a student
Worst thing
The higher up create a toxic environment by creating fear for associates to ask questions without turning it against you. Panda does not respect when you’re off. they expect to tend to the store on your off days and conduct meetings that always over extend.

Best thing
Most people I work with are nice and understanding.
Worst thing
Upper management couldn’t give a care in the world about us, most of us have only gotten two raises in the last three years. Everything gets pushed to the closing shift to do/clean and we aren’t even allowed to take tips when people want to give it to us unless we say no first. Only reason I’m here is the pay is better than most places right now.
