Best thing
Pay and benefits. Paid holidays. Paid sick time. Short term disability. Generous Paid vacation days. (120 hrs, plus 24 hrs for Floating Holiday, adjusted based on hire date) Company caters meals for people working on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Christmas breakfast as well. Safety shoe voucher yearly, but will renew sooner if boots become unserviceable.
Worst thing
12 hour shifts. Calling out sick gains an occurrence. High turnover rate. Other shift doesn't want to come in and help or cover a shift due to my shift's supervisor. Scheduler is aloof as to what actually happens on the floor and refuses to talk to operators about issues and often blames operators for their mistakes, despite it being in writing that the operator proceeded how they were instructed. Very Politically Correct working environment. Plant is split into two separate companies and people get in trouble for passing through each other's areas, unless during an emergency. Working with dangerous chemicals and not climate controlled.
