Best thing
There is always so much to do that the shifts go by very quickly. Good camaraderie with your coworkers.
Worst thing
Way too much to do and not enough time to do it, very poor work-life balance, the lack of a consistent schedule makes having a life outside of work very difficult, unrealistic expectations for completing tasks even when circumstances are not ideal, work conditions are almost never ideal, frequent clopens, not respected by customers and the collective suffering of the employees seems to be intentionally overlooked by corporate, we cannot buy in to the company’s stock in any way, raises cap out way too quickly, and the whole crew suffers any time anyone gets sick or goes on vacation; there’s only a really small pool of people to find coverage from.

Paid breaks
Worst thing
A lot of work needed to be done and covered throughout the store for the little amount of people and pay. Too much for one person to maintain consistently. Always have to do multiple things at once. Depending how long your shift is the longest break that can be taken is 30 minutes. In order for you to get 40 hours you might have to work 6 days out the week. You’ll work one long shift one day and then a super short one the next possibly. You’ll work a closing the night of then have to open the next following day. Getting paid very little compared to the people that have been working there when we do the same thing but I do better and faster. Part time people slack of because supposedly fully time people are to work harder.

Best thing
Tenured team members that I’ve worked with for years are great. Good insurance and 401k. Mental health sessions are there if needed (max 2 I believe per year)
Worst thing
Skeleton crew. You work with never enough staff and too many customers/tasks. The company does not pay competitively compared to the expected job duties. The company is always exclaiming how well they’re doing, how many stores they’re opening, but give you bare minimum hours. The expectations continue to rise and the efficiency the store is expected to reach continuously increases. They do not care about their people, they care about how much work they can get out of you for however many years you’re able to make it before leaving.

Best thing
The pay is usually good for the area, and the tasks are not that hard
Worst thing
Current management and upper management is abysmal. Lack of interpersonal communication skills and empathy. District Manager is so anti-union he tries to union-bust employees that don't even know what unions are.

Best thing
Pay is decent, night shifts are easier than day. Breaks are made sure to be taken.
Worst thing
Stocking at 6am in the morning is painful. Made to do a 5am shift after closing the store and leaving at 8:30. So they will give you bad shifts and not tell you. They also rely on a schedule maker. It is awful and gives you ridiculous hours like. 6:30-1, 6:00-2:30, 1:15-9:00. Not worth the pain. I literally said i can work 9-5 but got stuck with random hours, dreading my schedule for the week. Don't work here if you want a consistent schedule.
