What do prisoner custody officers do?
Prison officers have the job of supervising prison inmates. As well as keeping them safe, they also work with inmates on their rehabilitation.
They can work in HM prisons (prisons run by the Government), private prisons or Youth Offender Institutions.
There are also different types of prisons, that range from Category D to Category A.
