Production operatives have the job of working on a factory production-line to make products.

They can work in factories for industries such as:

• Food and drink
• Pharmaceuticals
• Cars and other vehicles
• Machinery and construction

Other names for production operatives are:

• Process operators/ operatives
• Factory workers
• Production workers

You can either be a semi-skilled (entry level) or skilled worker, depending on what experience you already have.

• Checking raw materials or ingredients are in good condition

• Putting products together by hand
