Job description from Bridgend County Borough Council
We are looking for x2 Personal Assistants’s to work together 2-1, to assist and encourage a 13-year-old active boy within the home and the community.
Hours of work:
8 hours (term time) 12 hours (school holidays)
These hours are for covering main PA’s when off on holiday or sickness
Time: Thursday, Friday, Monday between 4-8pm (these hours can be flexible),
For example: 3-7pm or 5.30-8pm,
Any hours covered between these times would be beneficial to the family.
Hourly rate of pay: £10.50
Main Duties:
• Identify local social activities.
• Motivate and encourage him to take part in new things.
• Help him to develop social skills.
• Enabling him to be happy and comfortable in social situations.
• Helping with behaviour management.
• Establishing and maintaining effective communication with the child and his parents.
• Maintaining confidentiality.
• Always Ensuring the safety of the child.
Person Specification:
• Requirements for applicant.
• Imagination in relation to activities to undertake.
• Good sense of humor.
• Patience.
• Flexible reliable honest.
• Physically fit, agile and energetic.
• Understanding of Autism essential.
A full driving license and use of a car is required. You must have business use on your insurance to be able to use the vehicle within work hours.
Benefits
5.6 weeks’ holiday per year (pro rata).
Sick pay at SSP rate, if wages are over £120.00 week
Training provided if required, where available.

This post will require a compulsory DBS check (the cost of which will be met by Bridgend County Borough Council).
