Job description

<p><strong>Radar Software Supplier Management Engineer</strong></p><p>Would you like to work with BAE Systems partners across Europe to ensure compliance for our Radar Software Products? We currently have a vacancy for a Radar Software Supplier Management Engineerat our site in Warton.</p><p>As a Radar Software Supplier Management Engineer, you will be working with the E-Scan Radar Equipment Design Responsibility (EDR) team on Eurofighter Typhoon in support of the software development effort on the E-Scan Radar programme. You will be based at Warton working closely with the Radar Equipment Supplier (EuroRadar, Leonardo-UK, Hensoldt, Leonardo-IT and Indra), Eurofighter GmbH and other System Design Responsibility (SDR) engineering disciplines in delivering the various E-Scan Radar software development programmes to time, cost and without compromise to safety or quality.</p><p>You will work as part of a small team managing all software activities. This exciting role requires a wide range of engineering skills, teamwork and product focus to ensure a varied and complex set of requirements are delivered.</p><p>This role will provide you with a unique opportunity to work with the latest version of the radar software and hardware on the well-established Typhoon platform. This role will also play a key role in allowing customers to enable their capability and success in this role could lead to further opportunities within the Team or wider BAE Systems Business. </p><p>UK and European Travel to supplier sites will also be part of this role when current restrictions allow.</p><p><strong>Your main responsibilities as a Radar Software Supplier Management Engineer will involve: </strong></p><ul><li>Approve Supplier Software Development Plans (SDP) and Software Validation &amp; Verification Plans (SV&amp;VP). Assess Radar software product and process compliance against same</li><li>Assess supplier deviations to Eurofighter System &amp; Software Development Standards.</li><li>Support the supplier in establishing an AGILE software development process and ensure the outturn products of this process feed or are supported by an equivalent Avionics Software product. (e.g. Alignment of respective AGILE processes).</li><li>Support the supplier with the development of a certification approach for the use of Multi-core processors and liaise with the certification authorities to ensure its acceptance.</li><li>Support the supplier with a development and certification approach for the use of Missionware (Mission Data and Mission loadable software components).</li><li>Review supplier Data Requirement Lists (DRLs) and Review Software declarations and evidence in clearance documentation</li><li>Attend Supplier Software Lifecycle Reviews on behalf of the Purchaser. </li><li>Perform software audits at supplier premises.</li></ul><p><strong>Your skills and qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience - preferably Software or Systems Engineering focus</li><li>An excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications</li></ul><p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience in a software assurance or audit background </li><li>Experience having fulfilled a Supplier Management role or responsibilities</li></ul><p><strong>What we&#39;re looking for in you:</strong></p><p>You will have good team working and effective communication skills to work with a range of stakeholders across the BAE Air Business and partner organisations.
