  • Best thing

Co-workers, a few nice regulars who are lovely to serve. Beautiful environment to work in, membership is great when you’re not working.

    Worst thing

Management, drama within the team, misogyny, working 6 hours but not being entitled to a break, feeling physically drained and exhausted due to no break. Having to close the bar on a late and not getting paid for going past 9pm even though it takes longer to close the bar on some days due to busy days. Which then goes over 6 hours of working & still had no break. Working late shifts then early mornings can be draining. Working on your own sometimes just behind the bar and being expected to do the job of 4 people. Members can be rude and stuck up, and believe they’re entitled to more because they pay so much for their membership so they decide to treat the F&B team with disrespect. Managers put a lot of pressure on us, and make us do extra tasks which we don’t have the hands for as we’re busy running food, serving customers, making drinks, stocking up items. Pressure of health and safety visits, constantly being monitored, food and allergies can be stressful as we get the blame if we mess up someone’s order even if they said no to allergies & they have an allergic reaction it goes against our records. It’s never ending. Don’t work here, they’ll treat you like a second class citizen, but treat their members like royalty.
