    5.5

    Royal Mail Postman, June 2024

  • Best thing

You get to be outside every day, walk around 10 miles a day (stay fit), you work with the public, you can forget about your job the second you clock out, finish around 2 so plenty of day left to enjoy. The pay is good for relatively unskilled work.

    Worst thing

You have to be outside every day, walk around 10 miles a day (it can hurt), you work with the public!!
Managers are box tickers and seem to have no concept of what the job entails. The only training you get is being told you've done something wrong. The place is held together by the workers, management top to bottom are SHOCKINGLY bad.

    6.8

    Royal Mail Employee, May 2024

  • Best thing

My colleagues are good to work with and pay is decent if doing enough overtime (Royal Mail is currently trying to change this and give workers a flat rate for working Saturdays and Sundays).

    Worst thing

Rules are set out where we're not allowed to do certain things without the official Royal Mail training but get told to just get on with it without the training even tho those same rules we're asked to break will be used against us if something goes wrong.

    6.4

Royal Mail Vehicle technician, September 2022

  • Best thing

    The people, good pay

    Worst thing

Haphazard management, lazy workers not taken to account. We're paid the same but some people literally do nothing and turn up late, yet nothing happens. When a contractual hour increase is available it goes to whomever is there longest (fine) but if you have the same start date whomever is oldest gets the job regardless of skill. Age discrimination. Holiday pay discrimination
