    3.2

Kids Planet Nurseries Nursery practitioner, November 2023

  • Best thing

Working with the kids and some of the staff are nice.

    Worst thing

Almost everything else. You get told not to do something and then the next day you're in trouble because the thing they told you not to do hasn't been done. HR don't respond to you at all, my job description changes all the time to suit what the manager wants yet they won't give me an official written job description so I have to go off what the manager says. I ask for support and I get nothing, I'm given less than a days notice about uniform being incorrect and told that despite them saying they would supply uniform for me, I have to I pay out of pocket. I plan and organise a lot of things for them but don't get any recognition but other people do. Im not allowed to take time off sick because it "burdens the company" yet I have on going health issues that they make hard to get sorted by purposefully making me late for appointments/ not letting me go to appointments easily. Everytime I have booked/ tried to book a holiday they have messed it up in some way by either not paying me for it despite me having enough days. Confirming it with me and then not putting it on the system and being annoyed that I've taken the time off we agreed upon or rejecting holidays without reason that were already approved.

They make a song and dance on social media about mental health and well-being but that's all it is. A dance for Facebook. They don't actually care, they will reduce you to tears and send you back into the rooms sobbing.

    3.7

Kids Planet Nurseries Nursery practitioner, October 2023

  • Best thing

Most of the staff are easy to get on with

    Worst thing

Company is too big, they’re all about the money and don’t care about the staff or families using the nursery service.

Barely any resources for the children within the nursery rooms.

Unfair. One rule for one, one rule for another.

    Not paid enough

Too much unnecessary paperwork and policies

Too many children for the nursery. Some rooms don’t even have enough tables and chairs for the amount of children in the room at one time.

Staff aren’t allowed to sit on chairs, have to sit on the floor (all day long) to be at “child’s level”.

Head office etc don’t even know who the staff are, what goes on day to day.

Outside areas and areas within the nursery are an extreme hazard. When kids planet first took over our nursery the first thing they said was they were going to replace the outside area due to the hazard and doesn’t look appealing… 4 years later nothing has been done, it’s got worse.

Kids planet just care about being a money making scheme.

    Worst thing

It’s stressful as it is always understaffed but we can’t get more staff as we are technically in ratio however due to having so many staff with a rule of holidays only allowing one person off a day it often leaves us short staffed as people may end up ringing in sick or sent to another nursery if they’re short
