  • Best thing

It's beneficial when you are a student because you can work fixed shifts.

    Worst thing

Very poorly organised, the tasks management's will give you change constantly. Therefore you can't finish what you doing properly. It's difficult to get consistent overtime.

    1.2

Waitrose & Partners Retail assistant, November 2023

  • Best thing

I get to work on point of sale and the store instagram

    Worst thing

No time to do everything we’re meant to do and they keep giving more tasks to fit into your time. For the things I do, there’s also very few people who can cover me so managers are more stubborn/ make me feel guilty about my time off.
Customers are rude and not understanding. Cutting hours and putting pressure on the lowest paid people to get everything done. In equal contracts so some people get paid more than others.

    3.4

Waitrose & Partners Supermarket assistant, November 2023

  • Worst thing

Stress, not enough people to do the job

    3.9

-everyone is being pushed to their limits
    -people are fed up

    7.0

Waitrose & Partners Employee, September 2023

  • Best thing

as a student you are paid the adult minimum wage but you also gain great people skill so for someone with anxiety i loved it

    Worst thing

customers can be so rude and go out of their way to disrespect you. if you are under 18 it’s not easy when you have to explain to customers that they need to wait for alcohol to be authorised because you are too young!

    4.3

Waitrose & Partners Employee, September 2023

  • Best thing

    Decent night premium
    No stress
Everyone just gets on with their work
    Pretty good discounts on lunch

    Worst thing

Head office is a bit disconnected with what’s going on in the store but that’s pretty typical of any company

    8.0

Waitrose & Partners Employee, August 2023

  • Best thing

The discount. Although this is not given to students which is utterly outrageous. It's not like when one goes away they forget the simplistic tasks involved with being a supermarket assistant. As a returning partner I carry out work just as well as people who are there all the time.

    Worst thing

My role is unclear. No clear training structure or way of delivering training is provided. Workers are not recognised for their hard work but called up on faults. The list continues.

    1.6

    2.4

Waitrose & Partners Employee, April 2023

  • Best thing

The staff you work with are all really friendly and understanding especially at my branch because we work with useless management. We're all in the same boat.

    Worst thing

Management are shocking and rude. They try to justify why the company is losing so much money by blaming employees and making our lives harder.

Waitrose & Partners Sales assistant, February 2023

  • Best thing

Personally the location is great and the partner benefits are great.

    Worst thing

The clear lack of respect night staff are given by day staff and people above not caring about the people underneath. With little to know knowledge of how to actually run a store.

  • Best thing

Customers are patient at most branches, great discounts and benefits, flexible managers in terms of hours.

    Worst thing

Sometimes customers do become a bit rude but it’s not often, sometimes difficult to book a day off due to having to book it a month in advance.

Store gets very busy over the weekend.
Sometimes managers can get very misleading towards others.
Not getting enough time for breaks

    5.5

  • Best thing

    Worst thing

Management - I wasn’t told when i was even meant to start working when i first got the job and had to call head offices.
