Best thing
Staff are great.
Free food on lunch.
Regular hours, and plenty if you wish to do more .Worst thing
Long shifts (up to 8hours +)
Pay is not enough for amount of work done.
The divide between Waiters/ Waitresses vs kitchen staff, where Kitchen staff have a lot more work, yet same pay.wagamama Kitchen porter, December 2021

Best thing
The pay is really good and you get free food on your break
Worst thing
Floor is very slippery, at the end of business day, the washing up is a lot for one person

Best thing
The people you work with
Worst thing
20 minute break on all shifts, even if it's 10 hours. Closing is a 2 man job but only ever 1 on. Only paid for the hours in your rota even though most nights you're staying at least an extra hour

Best thing
can take time off relatively easily
Worst thing
over worked, relied on too heavily, aren't paid well, understaffed constantly, rotas are given out 1-3 days before week starts every week but have to give two weeks notice to have a day off, HR ignores complaints about sexual harassment or other issues, no service charge included, managers are paid only 20p more than team members, given ridiculous shifts (sometimes 3 hour shifts or shifts with 3 hour splits, open/closes back to back), expected to work when sick, many people made redundant while directors are given huge cash bonuses, food is NOT fresh, mental health is not taking seriously, no recycling done, uses tons of single use plastic, etc

Best thing
Supportive team and general awareness of each other’s tasks.
Worst thing
Meticulous online training that half of it isn’t even relevant to my role. The PR scheme to market the company as friendly and welcoming to employees is totally contradictory to the overload of tasks and expectations on the very first day.
