Best thing
Morning hours are convenient. 3 days a week good for personal life.
Worst thing
Unreliable housekeepers. Housekeepers who can’t clean properly. Housekeepers always calling in sick. Dirty rooms. Short staffed. Overbooking process is ridiculous. Have had to clean rooms in the past when housekeepers call in sick, even though it’s not my job. Underpaid/not paid enough. Unable to do more hours/overtime/hardly ever. Complaints from guests constantly. Old run down building with no restaurant. Either completely boring or completely stressful no in between.

Best thing
The people you work with are outlandishly kind and will support and help you however they can.
Even if there's nothing they can do to help you they'll be a shoulder to cry on and be willing to listen to your problems.Worst thing
Constantly understaffed and overworked without being given a choice for the overtime they just spring it on you last minute. They make you feel guilty if your sick/ injured and can't work. They often expect you to do almost 20 rooms a day alone despite being told In our interviews we'd be getting 10-12 rooms at most if it was busy, they expect us to have them all finished by 4pm despite guests don't often leave till 1-2pm.
We're also made to feel like we're being lazy, dramatic or like we're not being a team player if we can't keep up with the word load or if we are struggling to keep up because we've been called in while we're sick.Travelodge Housekeeper, November 2022
