Lack of respect for employees. Poor pay considering what is expected of us (exposure to physical and verbal abuse). Unethical treatment of patients and not enough agency as an employee (non-management) to improve the unethical circumstances for patients.

Short staff to many agencies who don't know the residents constantly working with them and keeping an eye on them. Regular staff constantly having cigarette breaks whilst none smokers didn't even get there's as times run out forbreaks. Mangers on your back giving more work to be done.

The adults we support are incredible. A wonderful mix, a joy to be around and as stressful as the job is, their smiles and laughter are the best.
Worst thing
The expectations are too high and there is not enough staff to do things. Use of agency too frequent. Manager expects all tasks to be completed even if you are alone with agency. Often having to work overtime, longer hours and even 24 hours because staff drop shifts last minute.

Monthly pay varies all the time (can get between 12-16 rota'd shifts in one pay period), it's a Mental Health hospital that has no care for colleague mental health despite offering support you don't actually get support.
