The worst things is probably the amount of social aspect retail is but that’s really me not in the correct job for me. And working in retail in general you get very rude people almost every other day.

Finishing a shift and going home!

Poor management, getting written up if your sick for 3 days in a row, never getting to see your contract, last minute changes to your shift pattern and not being allowed to say no, being told overtime in mandatory and also all overtime is just minimum wage instead of increased pay, managers have no respect for employees going as far as to talk badly about them behind their backs, expected to do impossible tasks while the managers sit in the kitchen and drink tea all day!

Place is mess, management reluctant to use people to keep it clean and safe. Only cleaned properly etc if they have been tipped off that higher management will be visiting.
The amount of food waste is depressing as easily avoidable.
Favouritism for career progression.
Rates are hard to achieve if you need to use toilet, get water.
Short breaks which become shorter because of distance to canteen.

Management doesn’t inform you of things directly, you have to hear it from your colleagues. There is little to no overtime and it’s not easy to get hours added to your contract.

Not allowed to requests days off unless it is a holiday even though I have to be available 24/7
Not enough equipment for all staff
Had to be on call multiple times a week and not get paid for it. So not be able to do anything after work.
