What people are saying about pay at Tesco
-
Best thing
Good money for young workers as rate of pay is based on position not age. Can be easy to negotiate a contract that works around college/uni if you’re a student
Worst thing
If you work lates (10pm finish) managers will often try to make you stay late to tidy up the warehouse even if it’s got nothing to do with your department
Unhygienic
Managers often treat younger workers with disrespect
Unrealistic goals
Many managers don’t listen to what their team feeds back
Managers frequently assuming younger workers are just chatting. No effort is made to find out what the “chat” is about
Mental wellbeing is completely disregarded despite “good wellbeing” posters being plastered everywhere
Not a lot of career progression opportunities
Usually a lack of hours
Managers are slow to respond to college inquiries/requests
