Starbucks Employee, April 2022

Starbucks Employee, April 2022
Others baristas and shift managers
Store managers and time demands
Starbucks Employee, April 2022
The other barista's are cool and lots of them are students so you find common ground really easily. Other than that, nothing.
Lack of staff, and staff are blamed for the shortage. Mangement will talk about your personal affairs behind your back, accuse you of lying or will cry on shift. Too strict for minimum wage, like oh no I have one extra piercing that doesn't change how I do my job. Supervisors are either extremely lazy or overworked and taken for granted, no inbetween. Inadequate training, manager will only hire previous starbucks experience so training doesn't have to be completed. No staff meetings or regular contact. Passive aggressive messages and emails. Will make you work even if you are sick at work. Does not adhere to the 48 hour sickness rule. Doesn't facilitate for mental health issues and will assume the barista is lying or pretending it is worse. No support when consistently rude customers approach you. Have been heckled, and robbed in the store. The place should be shut down personally.

Under a lot of pressure in busy stores to just get drinks out, no matter how bad it’s made. I’ve worked in quieter stores and they care more about the quality of the drinks.

The team environment is amazing. We all genuinely care for each other and our store
The pay is awful for the position I am in. Not paid any over time so I work for free which is expected often by upper management.
Even though I have the position of manager I can’t make any decisions unless upper management says yes first.
We are constantly told and forced to deal with complaints that are things completely out of control, it makes me not want to go into work. For all the good things to us a pat on the back is all we get

Starbucks Employee, October 2021
Fellow employees
very rude customers who treat you badly, little consideration from management, unsociable hours (eg. 3pm-11.30pm), poor management and hiring of staff that are incapable, poor benefits of working there.
Starbucks Employee, October 2021
It's a fun creative job with lots of new skills. There's always people around.
Higher ups only care about the bottom line and not about the day to day runnings or staffs quality of life. Many false promises. Will rather employ externally rather than promote from within
Starbucks Employee, October 2021
The pay rate is actually OK for the time being...
Starbucks Employee, September 2021
Free coffee and 30% discount.
Starbucks don’t care about the frontline staff, they don’t care about coffee. They don’t care about customer connection. They only care about making money from deliveries (UberEats/Just Eat/Deliveroo) and giving stores minimal labour to handle it and their idea of rewards are points on a website that no one uses because nothing works on it.
Starbucks Employee, September 2021
To give best customer service and keep smiling happy 💕😊☺️
