Managers treat you like scum, pushed to reach unrealistic targets. Get told they won't pay for an eye test because we aren't looking at the screens for longer than an hour but I'm not sure head office understand our jobs
Screwfix Employee, February 2022
If you get a good team and store you can meet some great people and really good for internal hires and progression

Screwfix Employee, February 2022
The pay is half decent for a student working part time, unfortunately if you’re full time it’s not great to live on.
Managers don’t understand sickness, if you miss a shift you’re subjected to a talk where you have to discuss what you can do next time to avoid the illness as if you can predict when that happens. Also if you’re a student and call in sick they accuse you of going out and drinking the night before, and blame the sickness on a “hangover” when infact it turns out to be a medical condition of which they have no sympathy towards you for.
Screwfix Employee, February 2022
The pay is about all
Get shouted at for things that aren’t your fault and managers are not sympathetic about it. Have so many things to remember. Not enough training and no product training which means customers get annoyed with you as they want your advice
