What people are saying about pay at Screwfix

  • Best thing

Amount of holiday you get a year.

A set amount of sick pay for the year.

    Can meet some great people.

    Worst thing

People make the job harder. Not pulling their weight, thinking they’re better than others etc. company constantly hiring external management and putting them on much more money than people who have started as a normal sales assistant and worked their way up or waiting to get to the next level of management but takes a long time to do so

    Screwfix Store assistant, January 2023

  • Best thing

Good range of shift patterns, flexible to a point to accommodate everyone, frequent pay rises for sales assistants and supervisors, opportunities to progress

    Worst thing

Progression apprenticeships are poorly run and executed, unrealistic measures set by head office (hour cuts at short notice, POS changes all the time that are mostly un needed) breaks can be hard to fit in due to being short staffed, colleagues over worked as you can't use peoples hours when they are off sick long term
