  Horrible management that talk about you behind your back, exploit you for as many hours as possible without giving you reasonable paid time off (i was forced to work 4.5x my contracted hours each week without my consent), changed shift times DURING the shift, and if you were unable to do the new hours you would have to find your own cover despite NEVER agreeing to the change in the first place. Inadequate training then unrealistic expectations for the second shift. You are expected to upsell hundreds of pounds worth of useless items within a 4-6 hour shift, and are reprimanded if you don’t.

  Low pay, managers untrained in hiring under 18s, unrealistic expectations from managers regarding workload, shoplifting, being on your feet all day, unclean and small staff room, shifts change without notice, frequently understaffed even for a small shop.

  Horrible Management - they feel entitled and are rude. They throw all of their responsibilities on you and treat you with no respect. They have ridiculous expectations. They are irresponsible too and lack empathy. The Head Office do investigations when issues are raised just for show, and let the senior staff off with a “warning” that doesn’t mean much. They handed an underaged part time sales associate keys for the store multiple times, where a 17 year old had to look after the keys and meet the manager in the morning to give to them to open.

  Being attached by customers and having to clean up their bodily ablutions. Thieves being threatening. Management telling us getting a security guard isn't viable and we need to put up with the violence. We feel extremely unsafe.
