Out driving all day, I enjoy driving and can listen to whatever I want. It’s mentally more stimulating than any in store job which I couldn’t do.

Can’t think of a thing worthy enough to note down…

Best thing
Work colleague are great
Worst thing
No health and safety monitored. Work load is scored based and we have no control over the score, higher management can increase the difficulty to get more jobs done but pay same or less.
Same job years ago but 20%cut.
0 facilities, no water fountain, canteen expensive or understaffed, toilet not working, no parking, etc etc list goes onSainsbury’s Warehouse operative, July 2023

Best thing
It can be flexible for my busy life
Worst thing
A constant complete shift about of management makes it hard to understand what is actually required of me with the job I’m suppose to be doing. I know my role and responsibilities but new management don’t even take into consideration how different the job we do is compared to another department they’ve worked on. You don’t feel appreciated as an individual.
Sainsbury’s Baker, April 2023
-
Best thing
Colleagues are mostly lovely, free food available during breaks, relatively flexible with hours
Worst thing
Manager poor at scheduling (we nearly always have too few or too many staff in), no increased pay for supervisor role compared to regular check out role

Sainsbury’s Employee, March 2023
-
Best thing
I currently work with the best group of people I’ve met
Worst thing
Manager is full of false promises and lies on my progress. He has absolutely no people skills.
Sainsbury’s Employee, March 2023
-
Best thing
The people I work with
Worst thing
The early hours. The unsafe conditions. Staff bullying other staff. In this company its not what you know its who you know. Quite often we don't get paid for sick days. Management let certain people get away with murder. Would love undercover boss to come to my store but I don't think they'd be brave enough!
Sainsbury’s Employee, March 2023

Best thing
other then the people i work with except managers
Worst thing
managers/ higher managers and customers
Sainsbury’s Food services assistant, March 2023
-
Best thing
The people that I work with tend to make the job far better than anywhere else I’ve worked. I’m more a part of the community I live in from working in a Local store.
Worst thing
The Store Manager I’m currently working with is one of the most unpleasant people I’ve ever met. A lot of staff have quit purely because of him. Not only this, but HR have been processing my complaint against him since November 2022, it is now March 2023.
Sainsbury’s Trading assistant, March 2023

Sainsbury’s Manager, February 2023
-
Best thing
Alright pay, not all days are bad, I’ve really improved on my communication skills and confidence since working there, you get to learn new skills and talk to all sorts of people
Worst thing
Stressful at times, managers seem uncaring and don’t show a lot of support, managers also have obvious favourites (some colleagues will get away with doing certain things that others will be told off for straight away), we’re not given any sort of feedback (at least not individual), rude and demanding customers, some tasks/people honestly make you feel like you’re not being paid enough to deal with it, breaks aren’t nowhere near as long as they should be
Sainsbury’s Customer assistant, February 2023

Worst thing
My shifts vary. I haven’t done my contracted shifts in months and we may be getting a decrease in hours
