People get paid by the hour at Royal Mail.

Pay and conditions are industry leading and we're unionised. It's possible to take career breaks up to two years. There's usually plenty of overtime.
Annual leave has to be booked over a year in advance and you're not guaranteed the weeks you want. We're understaffed and can't complete our jobs properly. It's stressful taking your rest day and annual leave as your round will be left uncovered. They only take on part time staff and getting made up to full time can take years, even if you always work a full time week. Smaller offices implement overtime bans which isn't ideal if you rely on it. If you don't have your own round you don't get the rota until the Friday before so making plans is impossible.

Being out in all weathers.. Wintertime can become a bit much as you get older.. Nice when Summer comes around though.
