Best thing
Best things about working here for me are definitely the team & the pay.
Worst thing
Worst things are pressure to preform well especially with KPIs as it’s almost completely out of your control, Also the rotas , you can work 11am-8:30pm one day and work 6:45am-4pm the next day and 10am-7pm the day after so there’s absolutely no structure and it can be difficult to fit much of a social life in outside of work.

Wage is goodWorst thing
Managers
Stressful
Pets are bred in awful conditions and come in with illnesses because of this
Customers
Sometimes you are given your break 1-2 hours into your 9 hour shift
Shift patterns, very rarely have at least 2 days off together, and usually work 6 days a week
No work-social life balancePets at Home Store colleague, February 2023
-
Best thing
Pay isn’t bad, the people I work with make it bare-able
Worst thing
Constantly staying late, missing breaks and it being unpaid, expect too much with no time often running the salon on your own meaning you have to groom dogs do walk in nail trims in the middle of grooms, be a receptionist and a cleaner all in one as well as having difficult dogs on your own and risk of being bitten or seriously hurt and no one would know if you are on your own. Unrealistic targets, keep adding walk in services when we already struggle for time, the staff who make these new walk in services have never worked in a salon in their lives.
