Best thing
Being able to help patients that are in need
Feeling fulfilled after a shift where I have been able to help the patients to the best of my abilitiesWorst thing
Staffing
Inadequate ratio of staff to patients
Lack of leadership
Disrespected by upper management
Talked down too
If concerns from staff are made we are not listened too but instead are told we are complaining and we have to get over it as everyone is in the same boat
Staffing crisis still having the excuse of covid-19
Complex areas are overlooked
As a student you are moved around and looked at as someone to pick up the pieces
Made to work above your competencies
If you decline a job you have meetings about needing a better attitude towards work
They don’t take into account mental health or physical health
I have been asked to come into work due to staff shortage when I have covid-19
Being abused by patients who are aggressive or unkind and when it is reported nothing is done
A true lack of support entirely for all staff members at nbt
The trust as a whole needs an intense amount of work this is the reason most staff are leaving or looking elsewhere
I come home exhausted physically and mentally
Getting physical injuries due to needing to care for patients who require multiple staff members but not enough staff and if you leave the patient you are told you are neglecting them
The new boarding patient system it’s a total mess
Staying late as not finishing paperwork or online forms etc but not being paid to stay late as staff are told they have poor time management skills
Same goes for breaks if you don’t take your break it’s your fault as you have poor time management
Honestly as a whole nbt isn’t a very nice place to work
