    The other staff members, I have never worked somewhere with other people that felt so awkward and lonely and uncomfortable. There is no motivation to work hard. Minimum wage, dealing with bad customers and the same repetitive shifts over and over again. Just a bad place to be, there’s no enjoyment to be had.

    40% discount but to be fair you get quite sick of the food very quickly so doesn’t really come into use. The people (colleagues not managers) are great

    Some Managers are often unbelievably disrespectful, rude and disgusting towards staff. Staff members crying on shift over how they’re treated. Managers ignoring me regarding my desire to change hours even though I’m being rota’ed significantly over my contract, hours I cannot do.

    Besides working with amazing people with different backgrounds and life purpose, you get to enjoy your day with them and sometimes learn new things on everything. The rota can be flexible and requests can be accepted so long as you are honest and with integrity towards your colleagues.

    Worst thing

    Customers can of course be ungrateful and more importantly self entitled for certain things. Some restaurants are faced with long awaiting repair and maintenance which would benefit the company but dont happen for a long time. Feelings of stress and loosing control can occur often if the day doesn't go the way you hope for.

    I get paid a decent amount for what I do, it’s not too far from home

    I can set a regular schedule so I can’t plan things in advance. I often work late into the night due to understaffing or the amount of work in the kitchen isn’t suitable for just one person. Managers can be quite unprofessional. Have to book holiday, can’t save it, as otherwise my manager will give me random weeks off

    It pays the National Living Wage to everyone over the age of 18, rather than minimum wage. And you get paid breaks and food on shift.

    Honestly, the worst part about working at Nando's is the average clientele that frequent Nando's are rude. It seems to appeal to younger people who often show little to no manners.

    New KPI's are exhausting. All staff are paid minimum wage which only attracts students. Its impossible to run a restaurant with all part time employees.
    Management haven't seen a fair pay increase in comparison to minimum wage.
    Area managers have no idea what's going on and plays favourites. General managers not in store or doing proper hours, arwa managers looking after favourite restaurants by moving money and sales so they reach bonus while other restaurants get nothing.
    I've been promised development loads of times and nothing happens while others seem to get all the opportunities.
    The ethos when I joined was make money and have fun. Now its all micro managed and data heavy. The fun has been lost.

    The long hours closing and staying till 1/2am, the way I was treated, some people took the job as serious as life or death, the pay, hostile work environment, Lack of training new starts
