    Free food at the end of a shift is common. Pay is very good for my age and the store is central to town and close to home.

    Too many tasks to complete, they vary greatly in volume day to day and curve balls are common. The department I work is short staffed.

    Not enough people available to process a delivery of chilled and frozen produce as well as hold up the ‘love to help’ motto. Deliveries are intense and cause disruption and cages are heavy and poorly loaded as well as stacked high( H&S issues for shorter staff

    Manager changing schedule the day before without informing or asking you. Total lack of communication and lack of trained staff. Far too much pressure on people willing to work hard. Having to stay over late to get all the jobs done because there isn't enough staff and then being slapped with a record of improvement because you didn't get everything done in time. Constantly being told you should have been fine, it wasn't that busy, when in fact, it WAS that busy. Being persecuted for having sick days. You can't have more than 3 sick days in 6 months or you get ROIs. The swipe in/swipe out window is EXACTLY ONE MINUTE before or after your shift, expect to be reprimanded if you're late or early buy more than one minute. Its a joke. I could go on forever.

    No sick pay, no paid breaks, rota's could be given more in advance, often only one working in my department meaning lots of work expected to be done even if you don't have the time, often can be a stressful environment, very little physical training at the beginning of my job.
