What people are saying about sick pay at Morrisons

  • Best thing

    Customers and co workers

    Worst thing

    15 minute breaks
    Managers attitudes
Warning for being off with my sick child

    Morrisons Employee, January 2022

  • Best thing

    Good pay
    Staff discount

    Worst thing

    15 minute breaks
Managers always threatening to fire you
Not being able to go use the W/C without permission
    Being treated like a number

    Morrisons Employee, December 2021

  • Best thing

    15% discount

    Worst thing

Unpaid hrs, no real breaks, no quality time off, no support, unrealistic expectations, rude customers, unsafe working conditions

    Morrisons Employee, November 2021

  • Best thing

Fairly decent rate of pay, 10% discount off all food shopping, work mates easy to get along with and helpful in general.

    Worst thing

Little or no breaks during an 8 hour day and even 15 minute breaks are unpaid. Not enough time given for unloading deliveries at customer's homes, very long distances between drops, sometimes up to 50 miles or more! Doesn't always seem very organised at the store and have to wash and clean vans ourselves, which usually takes us well into overtime. Vans often filthy and haven't been refueled before the morning so that all has to be done in the morning before going out.

    Morrisons Employee, October 2021

  • Best thing

15% store discount. Banter with team mates.

    Worst thing

15 minutes for breaks which is not enough time to eat a proper meal. Berated for not learning quick enough and managers don't train you and rely on longer serving members of staff to train you instead with no extra paty for the person training you. Disciplinarys for sickness percentage being higher than 3% even when you were off for an operation or due to mental illness resulting from stress at work. Not enough staff for each department. Expected to bounce between departments at a moments notice. Equipment frequently breaking down due to it being so old and outdated and doesn't get replaced. Health and safety regulations constantly breached. A lot of things hidden from Head Office. Managers and staff cutting corners until they know someone from higher up is visiting then all the managers panic to make the store look like they are doing everything properly. The list is endless!
