What are cooks saying about pay at McDonald’s?

  • Best thing

    Pay
Flexibility with holidays and booking time off (sometimes)
Some flexibility when inputting your availability

    Worst thing

Managers rarely let you change your availability unless you have no other choice
Managers and crew trainers treat you with disrespect
I’ve been screamed at by managers to the point of tears and they’ve continued screaming after I’ve started crying.
I’ve been called so many names by management
Managers choose employees they like and then treat them differently than others.
Extremely unfair breaks, I’ve worked 6/7 hours before getting a break and I’ve also had my break an hour in and no other break. I’ve also been told to shorten my break.
Older Crew members can be extremely creepy towards the 16-20 year olds and they get no punishment for doing so.
Forced to work in a kitchen on hot days with no ac and rare drink breaks, if there’s no managers around to ask (cos theyre sitting in the office on their phone) and you get a drink without permission you’ll get screamed at.
    Extremely cliquey

  • Best thing

    The Pay and nothing else.

    Worst thing

The managers, my fellow college and the organisation or every shift. We are always understaffed and overworked. The managers are condescending and rude and have even thrown objects before.
