Best thing
The only good thing about the job is getting to know the customers, most of whom are lovely.
Worst thing
The recent pay rise didn’t meet inflation, all shops are very unsafe as some places are open till 10 at night with no security guard in rough areas. The higher management has all previously worked inshop but have forgotten how it is to work in shops and don’t provide suitable support.
Overtime pay is just the flat rate, so gets taxed away (eg payslip showed 56 hours of overtime in the month was 560 quid, but due to tax I got only 270 on top of my basic hours)Ladbrokes Coral Customer service manager, October 2022
