HBH Woolacotts job reviews

  • Best thing

The commission is the only good thing, if you get a chance to sell something because of housekeeping tasks interrupting the job.

    Worst thing

The management do not care about employees, work isn’t rewarded in anyway other than commission but a slight amount of us are told to sort stock, change price tickets or do general cleaning. A colleague asked the manager if there was anyway to have a pay rise when being told to go out on the delivery team when they were short as we are on a commission based wage, the manager simply brushed it aside as he didn’t care, he still gets paid and the company still preforms well, it is only the employee that suffers which they are fine with.

  • Best thing

The only thing that makes the job worth it is the guys you work with on the road and the majority of the customers you meet.

    Worst thing

In the company you are nothing but a number. If something goes wrong you are the first to be thrown under the bus.
There is no regard for you health and safety when making deliveries, if you do a risk assessment and deem it unsafe you are still expected to deliver as all the company cares about it's making making money and hitting targets. You are expected to finish when the last job/delivery is done, however late it may be. You will never know what time you will finish day to day as you don't know what you will have untill the day. They can, will, and have just added jobs through the day regardless of how your day is going. Sometimes you do get to finish on time or a little early but not often.
