What employees are saying about GLL
-
Best thing
Get to interact with a lot of people, both customers and colleagues. Pay is good and feels quite rewarding helping others.
Worst thing
The managers. They are rude and dismissive and treat you like you are a robot rather than a human being. Plus there's always clear double standards: they bang on about the rules, then when you enforce them to a customer, the manager then tells the customer that they can let them slide, which makes you look like an idiot.

Worst thing
sometimes the hours

Best thing
That every day is different, makes me happy to see people participating in sport and physical activity, leading a team, having goals and a purpose to follow
Worst thing
The shift patterns - I’m I’m unable to play much sport myself
GLL Trainee Manager, October 2023

Best thing
Good Pay if you live in London, Easy to swap and change shifts, Customers are nice.
Worst thing
Management tends to pick favourites, not enough support from head office for workers and managers, not enough employees
GLL Recreation assistant, November 2022

Best thing
The staff are great. Sometimes management can be difficult to deal with but they try their best.
Worst thing
It can be a really unprofessional work environment. This is the same for most centres I’ve worked in so falls onto the company as a whole rather than management.
