What are call and contact centre staff saying about pay at Direct Line?
-
Best thing
Overtime pay is really good and there’s always extra work going
Worst thing
Your time is micro-managed by the higher ups, a bit too much sometimes
Direct Line Claims handler, October 2023

Best thing
Discounts/vouchers. Pay is OK (not great though). There are opportunities to progress.
Worst thing
Stressful, not enough free time, work loads of weekends and almost every bank holiday, too stats oriented and you get blamed for things that aren't your fault. For example the systems are dreadfully slow but you get in trouble for calls taking too long but you literally spend all your time just staring at the loading wheel on the screen. Also very repetitive so often boring
Direct Line Employee, May 2022

Best thing
Pay and benefits are very good.
Worst thing
Expectations of employees, attitude of management and rude customers

Best thing
Good pay.
Good job.
Good shiftsWorst thing
Customer reviews affect our bonus, and sometimes we are unfairly scored down due to a bad review left due to factors we couldn’t control

Best thing
Pay, people & benefits
Worst thing
It was the common te until COVID-19, now I work from home
