Customers, managers and crime
Co-op Food Team leader, March 2024

Best thing
Lots of variety in tasks, headsets to talk to colleagues, pays well for young people. Lots of guidance and instructions to help you learn how to do something or if you want a refresh. Team is pretty easy going and you get to know colleagues well.
Worst thing
It's retail. Sometimes it's a bit stressful with customers, deliveries and being short staffed and struggling to get shifts covered.

Co-op Food Shop assistant, December 2023

Best thing
Pay, nice staff
Worst thing
Constant shoplifting, aggressive customers, drunk customers, expected to do too much in short shift times, not enough staff, always working in the bakery, working way over my contracted hours, having to stay late when things aren’t finished.
