Management is useless and disorganised. It's too stressful, the workload is unmanageable, we're always working on tight/impossible deadlines.

Fun team
Busy, overtime required, little help, no thanks for extra time or effort

Working in retail can be really stressful especially at first when you don’t know where everything is and you don’t know the products very well. Some customers can be very rude and entitled

Store and assistant managers talk down to you.
Area managers are downright rude.
You feel like your manager is doing you a favour when you have annual leave and you're made to feel guilty.
Management care more about profit than patient safety.
Management take staff away and leave you short staffed which comprises patient safety.
Training is none existent. You get told you have alloted training time but it is too busy to do - managers class trainee dispenser as qualified when counting number of staff.

Boots Employee, March 2022
Most of the team that i work with are amazing and very understanding of any problems that i may have. As well as this the pay is good.
yes the pay is good - when i get it all given to me. i’ve been underpaid several times in a row. There’s an unbalanced work load from shift to shift. Sometimes you have a million jobs to do, the next shift your stood behind tills for 4 hours.
Boots Employee, March 2022
We are now expected to clock in and out daily. There is a fear culture and a tone of arrogance.
Boots Employee, February 2022
Staff discount
Pay is unreliable, district managers do not care for staff, head office has no idea what is going on anywhere, people are constantly out of the loop and you role can get changed at a moments notice. No job security.
Boots Employee, February 2022
Stores basically revolve around bullying, racism, sexist behaviour, and cliques. The general attitude is genuinely worse than most children in a school playground. Management completely unwilling to make any changes to improve situation so bullying culture provails in most stores, and cliques dominate the day to day running of the location.

Boots Employee, February 2022
No staff, not appreciated and just treated as a number, work load too much and it's too easy to make mistakes no matter how hard you try not to because of the pressure. Too much paperwork and silly targets to worry about

Boots Employee, February 2022
Good people (in my team), decent environment
colleagues you’ve never met will pull you up on issues and not actually give clear advise on what’s wrong. Training is rushed. Holidays are very hard to book, we work 3 weekends and one late shift a month and can’t book weekends or late shifts off (a late shift is the only time we get a full weekend off). You barely ever get two days off in a row.
Boots Employee, February 2022
The people, being able to walk to work, the variety
Rude customers, not having enough time or staff to do things
Boots Employee, February 2022
The best things about working at Boots is definitely the people your working around.
The worst thing about working at Boots is the pay each month, it’s consistently changing even after working the exact hours each month. So many hidden fees that will be taken off your pay each month without any warning.
