Not enough staff as when people leave they don't replace them hard heavy work.
Plus always giving out vouchers which means you have to ring off the customer's bill put the customers number in again do the discount ring that off do a copy then put customers number in again so they can pay

That I work full time every week 38 hrs but only a 12hr contract and was told would be getting full time contract 2 years and still waiting and difference is had it would get 5 weeks a year but cause my contract is 12 hrs a week I only get 8 days a year when I work full time and they also take 2 days of my annual leave for Christmas and new years which brings it from 10 days to 8

Lots of regular customers, means lots of opportunity to get to know the business owners. Often times they will very kindly offer a discount to their restaurant if they are a caterer.

Sometimes customers don’t use the self scanners, meaning we have to manually transfer all of the heavy items and boxes to another trolley while scanning them.

Pay - pay rises are not equal for supervisors as they are for branch assistants. There is less incentive to become management and progress when BA’s get pay rises more often and have less responsibilities within the store. Just because we’re on a salary does not mean we aren’t affected by the cost of living too
