Feeling that my role realy does make a difference to people's quality of life is so satisfying, tgere is more to life than just earning your pay. I genuine love caring for our customers. Most of the time I work independently so if the job is done well it's down to me and I know I do my best at all times.
I love building the relationships with our lovely customersWorst thing
Time pressures on some calls are tight and some travel times can be tight too.
We can be short staffed particularly when covid is rife this means you are almost always being asked to do extra shifts which is great when you want them but it's a tiring job and you can feel very guilty saying no to extras. You have to look after your own health though and learn to say no sometimes, if you jeep saying yes they will keep asking for more having said that it realy doesn't go unnoticed when you do extrasBluebird Care Employee, October 2022

Best thing
I like my job, I love working with people building relationships, seeing end results of caring for people watching them improve, feeling a sense of achievement.
Worst thing
Wasting petrol when the rota has been done wrong, being sent to a client when the have cancelled the call. Having my rota changed last minute to give to contract carers my clients which means I have less work. Being asked to do courses not paid when I get up at 4.30am to do a morning shift. Being treated badly by office staff, it’s family and friends.
