The hours are regular and occasionally overtime’s available but not compulsory, often bargains are available to staff before customers. 1hour lunch breaks are great and I always take them at a reasonable time. The workplace is local and some colleagues are friendly, there’s often someone who can handle Amy issues customers present to you.

    Worst thing

Unskilled management team who have their own agendas, often trying to give different instructions through the day. Petty school playground mentality amongst staff and many who bring their outside issues into the workplace. Equipment to carry out different work tasks is very limited preventing effective and satisfactory customer service.

  • Best thing

Team are great, managers are nice. Opportunities to get extra training and overtime at busier times. My manager fits my rota around sixth form.

    Worst thing

As it is a DIY store customers ask alot of questions about products which you may know nothing about, sometimes they will get annoyed if you do not know the answer. Delivery days can be a bit frantic particularly, when having to balance it with other duties such as paint mixing if you work in Décor.

    7.9

  • Best thing

The people I work with, they treat me well. My supervisor always checks I'm okay and is (usually) open to changing shifts if other commitments come up (funerals, christening, etc...)

    Worst thing

Sometimes it feels like management put earning money from sales as more important than our wellbeing (e.g. a customer will tell and swear at us but management won't do anything about it such as asking them to leave). When asked to do longer hours (8/9 hours) you sometimes have to almost 'fight' for your breaks which can get very annoying.
