Best thing
A lot of the time it’s easy and enjoyable work eg, taking service users bowling
Worst thing
No sick pay on waiting days before SSP, sick pay doesn’t continue for long if you’re on long term sick. It can be difficult eg. if you get assaulted by a service user although this is rare

Best thing
The people we support are great.
Worst thing
Co-workers treat other people who aren't in the office politics horribly. Managers are condescending and treat you as-if you are supposed to know everything on the first day. Co-workers struggle to teach newcomers the basics. Everyone (managers, colleagues, and other people within the company) disrespects colleagues who are autistic. The workplace is ageist, racist, and some of the workers deal with daily harassment.

Best thing
The clients who have a wide range of abilities and different methods of communication.
Worst thing
Most co-workers talk down to new people, primarily colleagues struggle to respect the transgender community, and managers do not work alongside their employees. I found that multiple managers would not respect the privacy of clients or medical disabilities of staff.
