Free tickets, discount on Merlin products, 30 mins unpaid break but rest paid, great team easy to make friends
Very stressful, a lot of abuse from customers, although you can make friends it’s still cliquey and hard with some, random rota changes that you sometimes don’t notice

Alton Towers Employee, January 2022
Free tickets to the resort

The team members and the benefits such as free tickets and discounts. Getting to work in such a magical environment.
Booking holidays can be hard if not booked at the start of the season. The customers can be very unfriendly at times. Fast paced environment is not everyones cup of tea.

The perks of working here.
Management don’t seem to have a grasp of what it’s like to be working and providing a quality service to guests.

Pay for u18 is great
Too hot 50 degrees in summer inside, boring 8-12 hours of watching a pool.

There are non its a nightmare
Overworked- often made to work longer hours then the shift was planned for, very very long hours. Staff bus timetable is ridiculous often waiting a very long time. Wasn't added to the rota spreadsheet and after asking was never informed what shifts I was on so angry managers calling asking where I was but never Informed me that I had a shift. Little flexibility on rota changes, often not asked what days I could and couldn't do. Was not payed for a couple weeks when I first joined. Summers get very hot under a glass roof-difficult working environment- managers don't seem to care about this. Staff very clique-y unwelcoming to newcomers.

Cleaning up people’s mess
Alton Towers Employee, September 2021
Breaks every 2 and a half hours. Great people
Management don't always understand pressure placed upon the work force, long days and hard to get days off
Alton Towers Employee, September 2021
Out of all the best thing is that you are sociable and you get to engage. I get to work as a team.
Sometimes you get given a set job which is too much and is unfair in a way. You could have a 8 rooms to clean which another employee has 3 but you would get paid the same.

The money
Everyone is miserable

Working with my coworkers and when there’s no customers
The stress and fast pace
Alton Towers Employee, May 2021
The friends you make and can cater shifts around other commitments
The stress, favouritism amongst managers making progression difficult, not paid enough for the job we do

Low hours security
