How old do you have to be to work at schuh?

schuh recruit from 16 and the average age of their in-store teams is 21.

Do staff have to wear a uniform when working at schuh?

The only uniform requirement is that you need to wear shoes from brands that are stocked in schuh. But you'll get a healthy discount and an allowance to make sure you're always on brand.


Do you get good notice of shifts?

schuh told us they try and give their staff at least two weeks notice or more of their shifts. They also have a staff app that enables staff to pick up extra shifts and request changes and holidays. This is what schuh staff told us about their shift notice.

  • 11% of shuch staff report getting one weeks notice or less.

  • 45% of shuch staff report getting two weeks notice.

  • 36% of shuch staff report getting three weeks notice.

  • 8% of shuch staff report getting four weeks notice or more.

Is their job progression at schuh?

schuh offers both good trainers and good training. In fact 71% of schuh staff told us that they had been given an opportunity to get better at their job, learn a new skill, learn to manage a team or get more responsibility in their role in the last year.
